Export and Run

So far we have paired the bodies in our structural assembly with the corresponding Moldflow studies, calculated strength reduction factors for the weld surfaces, and mapped the results. Now we can export the model and run the structural analysis.

  1. Click (Home > Export > Settings).
  2. Switch to the Rupture tab, activate the Enable Rupture check box, and click OK.
  3. Click (Home > Export > Export to Structural Package).
  4. Click OK if notified that not all parts contain a .ws3 file.
  5. Name the file pedal_assembly_ame.inp and click Save.

Now we are ready to run our analysis.

  1. Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory containing the .inp, .hin, and .sif files (use the Command Shell desktop shortcut to easily open a command prompt).
  2. Enter the following command to submit the model for analysis (in this case with Abaqus 2017): 
    >>abq2017 job=pedal_assembly_ame
