To Transparently Use a Grid Northing and Easting to Specify a Point Location

You can specify a point location using grid northing and easting values.

Grid settings are required in the drawing, including the zone, the coordinate system, and any applied transformations.

Transformation settings for the drawing may include a base point, a rotation angle, or another reference point.

  1. When you are prompted to enter a point in a command, do one of the following:
    • Click Transparent Commands tab Plan panel Grid Northing Grid Easting .
    • Right-click to display the Transparent Commands context menu Grid Northing Grid Easting.
    • Activate the Transparent Commands toolbar and select Grid Northing Grid Easting .
    • Enter 'gn.
  2. Enter a grid northing value.
  3. Enter a grid easting value.
  4. If you are prompted, enter an elevation. For more information, see To Enter an Elevation for a Transparent Command.
