To Transparently Use a Point Number to Specify a Point Location

You can specify a point location using a point number.

The system searches first in the active drawing, and then in the project, if applicable.

Only the northing and easting values from the specified point are used. If you want elevation values, you must enter or select an elevation.

  1. When you are prompted to enter a point in a command, do one of the following:
    • Click Transparent Commands tab Plan panel Point Number .
    • Right-click to display the Transparent Commands context menu Point Number.
    • Activate the Transparent Commands toolbar and select Point Number .
    • Enter 'pn.
  2. Enter a point number or a list of point numbers.

You can specify a single point number, or you can specify multiple points by entering individual point numbers or ranges of point numbers separated by commas. For example, you could enter the following: 100-105, 603, 701-713.

  3. If you are prompted, enter an elevation.

If the point you specified in the previous step has an elevation, it is listed as the default elevation, and you can select it by pressing Enter. For more information, see To Enter an Elevation for a Transparent Command.

Note: Elevation prompting for transparent commands is controlled by the Transparent Command setting Prompt For 3D Points. For more information, see About Transparent Command Settings.
