System Requirements for the Factory Design Utilities and the Factory Design Suite.

The Factory Design Utilities are available in the following Autodesk® products:

• AutoCAD® Architecture
• AutoCAD® Mechanical
• AutoCAD® MEP
• Inventor® Professional
• Navisworks® Manage
• Navisworks® Simulate (FDS Premium)
• Vault Professional

Operating System:

• 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1, update KB4019990.
• 64-bit Microsoft Windows 8.1 with update KB2919355.
• 64-bit Microsoft Windows 10, version 1607 or later.

CPU Type

• Recommended: 3.0 GHz or faster. 4 or more cores.
• Minimum: 2.5 GHz or faster.

Memory

• Recommended: 20-GB RAM or more with 160-GB free disk space or more.

• Minimum: 8-GB RAM for less than 500 part assemblies. 40-GB free disk space.

  Note: Autodesk recommends settings which allow Microsoft Windows to manage virtual memory as needed. There should always be at least twice as much free hard disk space as system memory (RAM).

Graphics Hardware

• Recommended: 4 GB GPU with 106 Gbps Bandwidth and DirectX 11 compliant.
• Minimum: 1 GB GPU with 29 Gbps Bandwidth and DirectX 11 compliant.
• Exceptions: OpenGL 3.0 or higher is required for Autodesk ReCap®.

Display Resolution

• Conventional displays (minimum): 1360x768 with True Color, and 125% Desktop Scaling (120 DPI) or less is recommended.
• High-resolution 4K displays (minimum): Resolutions up to 3840x2160 with True Color (Windows 10 64-bit and capable display card).
• Conventional displays (recommended): 1920x1080 with True Color, and 125% Desktop Scaling (120 DPI) or less is recommended.
• High-resolution 4K displays (recommended): 3840x2160 with True Color (Windows 10 64-bit and capable display card).

Browser

• Internet Explorer® 11.0 or later (Google™ Chrome is recommended).

Third Party Software

• Full local install of Microsoft® Excel 2010, 2013 or 2016 for iFeatures, iParts, iAssemblies, Global BOM, Parts Lists, Revision Tables, spreadsheet-driven designs and Studio animation of Positional Representations. Excel Starter®, Online Office 365® and OpenOffice® are not supported.
• Office 365 subscribers need to have a local installation of Microsoft Excel 2016.
• Excel Starter®, Online Office 365® and OpenOffice® are not supported.

.Net Framework

.NET Framework Version 4.7 or later. Windows Updates enabled for installation

Pointing Device

• Microsoft Mouse-compliant pointing device (3Dconnexion 3D Mouse optional).

Network

• Internet connection for web install with Autodesk Desktop App, Autodesk collaboration functionality, .NET installation, web downloads, licensing, access to cloud assets, online help, updates, and other features.
• Network license manager supports Windows Server® 2016, 2012, 2012 R2, 2008 R2, and the operating systems listed above.

Virtualization

Citrix® XenApp™ 7.6; Citrix® XenDesktop™ 7.6 (requires Inventor Network Licensing).
