The XGen Editor toolbar provides access to frequently used functions. These options are also available from the XGen Shelf.
Click this to display primitives generated by the current attribute settings of Descriptions. A typical XGen workflow includes previewing modifications you made to primitive attributes in the scene view before you render. You can select from the following Preview options:
A preview automatically displays when an attribute value is modified. You can turn this on in addition to the other Preview options.
When turned off, the preview icon changes to this icon:

Toggles the Add Guide tool. Use this tool to add guides to the surface of the geometry and to move guides on the surface.
Use the Left mouse button to add interpolated guides. When added to a surface, the shape and scale of these guides derives from the existing neighboring guides. For example, you can shape an existing guides and add new guides, and then add new guides with shapes interpolated from the existing guides. These are the most commonly used type for guide-based Descriptions.
Use the Middle mouse button to add default length, straight guides that are aligned with the surface normal. Default guides ignore the shapes of existing nearby guides. Use a default guide when you require an unshaped guide that projects from the surface normal.
You can right-click a guide in the scene view to access options that let you move, copy, and paste guides. See XGen Utilities options for information about more tools you can use to manipulate guides.
