Use a personal database

Learn how to select a material from your personal database for use in an analysis.

1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup > Select Material). The Analysis Wizard dialog appears with the Material tab selected.
2. Click the Specific material control button.
3. In the Manufacturer text box type Our. The textbox has now automatically filled in Our Material , the name of your personal database created in the previous task.
4. Expand the Trade name list to display the trade names of the materials in your database.
5. Select Makrolon 3158 and click Next. The Process Settings tab shows that the Melt Temperature to be used for the analysis is 300 °C.
6. Click Back. The Material tab is displayed. Our Material , your personal database, is still listed in the Manufacturer textbox.
7. Select Makrolon 3158 - plus 5 from the Trade name list and click Next. The Melt temperature for this material is now 305 °C.
8. Click Finish (if prompted, create a copy of the study). The Study Tasks pane now shows Makrolon 3158 - plus 5: Covestro as the material that will be used in subsequent analyses.

You can work with databases for coolants and mold materials by following the same procedures.
