Multiple Barrel Reactive Molding Controller dialog

The Multiple Barrel Reactive Molding Controller dialog is used to specify multiple barrel control related settings for a multiple-barrel Reactive Molding analysis.

Prerequisites
Mesh type: Midplane
Molding Process: Multi-Barrel Reactive Molding
Analysis sequence: Contains Fill + Pack
Model: Contains Multi-Barrel Injection (MBI) Injection locations on individual layers
Dialog location
Right-click on the MBI Injection location. Select Properties

All solver parameters have a default value that is suitable for most analyses.

Dialog element Explanation
Maximum machine injection stroke

Specifies the maximum allowable injection stroke that can be used on the injection molding machine.

Enter the maximum allowable injection stroke.

Machine screw diameter

Specifies the size of the injection molding screw on the molding machine.

Enter the size of the screw on your injection molding machine.

Delay time in the pot

Specifies the amount of time the molding compound is kept in the pot before it is injected into the cavity.

This delay time is taken into account in the reaction kinetics calculation.

Typically, the temperature of the pot wall is higher than that of the molding compound, so the molding compound is being heated during this delay time.

Tip: If you do not have appropriate data for a pre-conditioning analysis, you can set this value to zero. The preconditioning analysis will be omitted, with only a slight loss in accuracy.
Filling control

Specifies the method by which the filling phase of the analysis is controlled.
