Delay time: By ram position dialog

This dialog is used to specify the conditions for delaying the injection by ram position in multiple barrel thermoplastics injection molding.

Prerequisites

Mesh type: Analysis sequence specific

• Dual Domain
• Midplane

Molding Process: Multi-Barrel Thermoplastics Injection Molding

Dialog location

Master barrel

Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings), select By ram position from the Delay timer drop-down menu, and click Set.

Sub-barrel

Click (Boundary Conditions tab > Multiple Barrel panel > Set Locations), select the multiple barrel controller that you want to delay, and click Edit. Select By ram position from the Delay timer drop-down menu, and click Set.

All solver parameters have a default value that is suitable for most analyses.

Dialog element	Explanation
at	Enter the distance the ram for the reference barrel should move, before this barrel starts injecting.
Reference injection node	Select the injection node for the reference barrel, then open the Geometry tab to find the node ID. Copy the node ID from the Geometry tab and enter it here.
