Stress-Strain data dialog

This dialog is used to input the non time-dependent (isochronous) stress/strain characteristics of the material, in the first principal direction. This data, if present, is used for a Stress creep analysis.

To access this dialog, click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings), and click Next until you find a page with the Advanced options button. Click Advanced options, then click Edit associated with Molding material. Select the Mechanical Properties tab, check Single set of stress-strain curves, and click the Edit stress-strain data button.

Dialog element	Explanation
First principal (or isotropic) tensile stress-strain curve	Curve type Generally speaking, if you have sufficient datapoints to describe the curve, select the multi-linear option. Multi-linear Curvilinear with slope continuity at the elastic limit Curvilinear without slope continuity at the elastic limit Failure strain Failure strain defines the degree of brittleness of the material. The more brittle the material, the smaller the failure strain. Enter a number between 1 and 5.
Tensile stress-strain curve data (1st principal direction)	You will have acquired this information from experimental data.
Different second principal properties (transversely isotropic)	Check this box if you have data in the second principal direction.
Edit stress-strain data This button only appears if you have selected Different second principal properties	Click this button to enter the second principal tensile stress-strain curve data.
