To create a new coolant inlet

When you create a new coolant inlet, you can specify the coolant properties at the same time.

It is assumed that you have imported or created cooling channels on which to apply the coolant inlet.

  1. Ensure that you have selected a Cool analysis, and the cooling channels layer is visible.
  2. Click Coolant Inlets (Boundary Conditions tab > Cooling panel > Coolant Inlets).
  3. Click New in the Set Coolant Inlet dialog. The Coolant Inlet dialog appears, enabling you to select the coolant and coolant control.
  4. Click Select next to the Coolant drop-down list, and choose the mold coolant.
  5. From the Coolant Control drop-down list, select a coolant control option. Specify the coolant control by either pressure (default), flow rate, or Reynolds number, and edit the default value, if necessary.
  6. In the Coolant Inlet temperature box, enter the temperature of the coolant as it enters the mold.
  7. Enter a new Name in the name box, that describes the coolant inlet, so you can identify it easily if you want to reuse it.
  8. Click OK to save the inputs and close the dialog.
  9. Repeat the process to create additional coolant inlets.
  10. Right-click the mouse and select Finish Coolant Inlets to close the Set Coolant inlet dialog.
