To mesh channel curves

Once you have created channel curves and assigned the correct properties to them, they must be meshed.

  1. Click Generate mesh (Mesh tab > Mesh panel > Generate Mesh). The Generate Mesh dialog appears. Notice the Global edge length on surface is already defined. This is the global edge length that will be applied to the model and will probably not be appropriate for the channel edge length.
  2. Click the Curves tab. The value entered for the Edge length vs. diameter for Circuits will be used to determine the channel edge length. The default value of 2.5 indicates an edge length 2.5 times longer than the diameter of the channel.
  3. Click Mesh Now.
Note: Complex cooling channels may require both the inlet and outlet defined for a Cool analysis to run.
