Tetrahedral elements are used in 3D meshes. They have four nodes, four faces and six edges and provide an accurate 3D representation of a thick or solid part.
Tetrahedral elements are assigned the identification label 'TE'. When you select tetrahedral elements, the identifiers, which are comprised of the letters TE followed by a number, are listed in the selection list.
