Converting a 3D mesh to a Dual Domain mesh is useful when modeling inserts where you want to have an exact match between the elements of the part (3D mesh) and the elements of the insert (Dual Domain mesh).
Note: Ensure the 3D mesh of the model does not have any errors.
Change the mesh type of the model to Dual Domain.
Right-click on the meshing icon (second from top) in the
Study Tasks pane and select
Set Mesh Type.
Select
Dual Domain.
Select
(Mesh tab > Mesh panel > Generate Mesh).
Select the
General tab to view the Target edge length information.
Ensure the
Remesh boundary
check box is not selected.
