Gravity can affect the quality of thick-walled parts, causing problems such as hesitation or jetting. The default down gravity direction is -Y in the coordinate axis system.
- Click
(), or double-click the Process Settings icon in the
Study Tasks pane.
- Click
Advanced options;
- Click the
Edit associated with
Solver parameters.
- Click the
Solver parameters button.
- Click the
Simulate gravity effect check box, and click
Edit gravity direction.
- Enter the X, Y, and Z components of the gravity vector.
For example, an orientation set of
0 1 0 orients the part so that the gravity pushes in the +Y direction (i.e., the -Y direction is
"up").
Note: You cannot change the strength of gravity. The vector you enter is normalized to length 1.0 when passed to the solver.
