Dialog element | Explanation |
---|---|
Midpoint of triangle edge | Select this option to insert a node midway between two nodes on an existing element edge. |
Center of triangle | Select this option to insert a node in the center of an existing triangle element. |
Center of tetrahedron | Select this option to insert a node in the center of an existing tetrahedral element. |
Middle of a beam element |
Select this option to insert new nodes in the center of an existing beam element. The new beam elements have the same property as the original beam. Select a beam and enter the total number of divisions you want. By default, the number of divisions is 2. For example, if you choose 5 divisions, four new nodes are added and one beam becomes five smaller ones.
Note: If the beam has an underlying curve, the new nodes are created on the original curve. If the beam has no underlying curve, the new nodes are created on a straight line.
