Setting Injection Locations for Overmolding

  1. Ensure that you have done the following first:
    1. Set the molding process.
    2. Selected the analysis sequence.
    3. Performed the required analysis setup tasks.
    4. Selected a material for the overmolded component.
    5. Set the injection locations for the first component.
      Note: If you want to control the exact position of the injection nodes, specify the injection locations on the CAD body before meshing.
  2. Click (Boundary Conditions tab > Injection Locations panel > Overmolding Locations), or double-click Ctrl + S the Set Overmolding Injection Location(s) icon in the Study Tasks pane.
    Note: Cross-hairs appear, indicating that the injection location mode is activated.
  3. Click the cross-hairs on the model where polymer is to be injected.

    A cone appears, indicating that you have successfully set the injection location on the model.

  4. Right-click the cross-hairs on the injection location cone and select Finish Set Injection Locations.
  5. Click Save from the Quick Access toolbar, or click Application button then Save (Save > Save Study) to save the injection location on your model.
