Hose dialog - Hose Properties tab

Applies to 2018.3 Update and later

This dialog is used to edit Hose properties in cooling circuits.

To access this dialog, select at least one Hose element, then either select Edit (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Edit), or right-click and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

Enter a unique, descriptive name to save the hose properties. Deselect Apply to all entities that share this property if you only want the changes to apply to the elements you have selected.

Note: Always use the Hose property rather than the Connector property when modeling cooling channels.

Diameter

Enter the hose diameter in mm

Loss Coefficient K factor

Added components interrupt the smooth flow of fluids, causing minor energy losses from flow separation and mixing. Each type of minor loss can be quantified using a loss coefficient, K.

The loss coefficient K, is based on the geometry and physical properties of the circuit components, such as bends, elbows, tees, fittings, valves, etc. and is different for each component. It is typically provided by the manufacturer, or you can look it up in a generic table. The default setting is 0.
