Plane Cut tool dialog

Use the Plane Cut command to cut visible surface mesh with a plane. Use this tool to cut symmetric parts in half.

To access this panel, click (Mesh tab > Mesh Edit panel > Advanced > Plane Cut).

Dialog element	Explanation
Define A Plane	Choose a plane to cut with Choose the direction of the cut (XY, YZ or XZ). A reference point on the plane Define the position of the cutting plane. Preview Enables you to see the plane along which the cut happens.
Fill and mesh the hole after cut	Plane cut leaves a gap between the two layers of a Dual Domain mesh. The Fill and mesh the hole after cut option meshes the cut gap to form a closed model.
Smooth mesh after cut	Ensure the cut border of the part does not have sharp triangles.
Keep triangles on negative side of axis	Invert the triangle selection.

Note: This function can leave isolated nodes, click (Mesh tab > Mesh Edit tab > Purge Nodes), to ensure any isolated nodes are removed.
