Part Surface (Midplane) dialog-Eccentricity

The Eccentricity tab of this dialog is used to specify an optional centerline offset for the selected elements or regions of type Part surface (Midplane) on a Midplane model.

To access this dialog, select the triangle elements in a Midplane mesh, click (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Edit), or right-click and select Properties from the context menu, then select the Eccentricity tab.
Note: The Eccentricity tab is only available when the Thermoplastics Injection Molding process has been selected.

Eccentricity example

The illustration below shows a part with a negative offset, that is, an offset towards the bottom side of the element.

Eccentricity (used only in warp and stress analyses)

Midplane models assume that the centerline through the thickness of the part is consistent throughout the part. The eccentricity option allows you to specify an offset value for the centerline.
