Selecting a heat specification option for heaters (3D) and cartridge heaters

Access the heat specification options from the Heater (3D) dialog or the Cartridge Heater dialog.

Note: The Heaters (3D) and Heater Cartridges are supported when you select the Cool (FEM) analysis sequence.

1. Select a heating element tetra (for heaters 3D) or a component of the hot runner channel (for cartridge heaters). Right-click the element and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

   The Heater (3D) dialog or the Cartridge heater dialog displays.

2. For Heater control, select Heat Option.
3. For Heat specification, select one of the following:
   • Heat flux and enter the Constant flux value.
   • Heater rating and enter the Total heat value.
