To edit heat transfer effectiveness properties

The heat transfer effectiveness (HTE) is a required input for a Cool analysis that specifies the heat extraction efficiency of mold surfaces, including cooling channels, baffles, bubblers, or connectors.

An HTE value of 1 indicates that the mold feature only absorbs heat, while an HTE value of 0 indicates that the feature absorbs no heat from the mold.

  1. Click on the mold feature to which you want to assign an HTE value.
  2. Right-click on the highlighted mold feature and select Properties from the drop-down menu. If the mold feature has not yet been assigned the appropriate property, click Assign (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Assign) and create a New mold feature property for it.
  3. In the Heat Transfer Effectiveness box, enter the required HTE value.
  4. Click OK to close the dialog.
