Import

When you import a model, select the type of mesh you want to work with. By default, a 3D mesh is selected.

The model is saved into a Project . A project is used to store Studies. Each study is a version of the original imported model and can be analyzed with different combinations of features, such as injection locations, processing parameters, runner/cooling configurations, material, analysis sequences, etc. For file management reasons, most users create a new project for each mold.

If the quality of the CAD model generates a poor quality mesh, repair the model in the original CAD package. Alternatively:

• Import the model as a Dual Domain mesh.
• Analyze and repair the mesh, either manually or with the Mesh Repair Wizard.
• Convert the mesh to the required mesh type.
• Analyze the part.
