To position a part within the manufacturing space

  1. Choose the Net Shape, Subtractive, or Additive mode.
  2. On the Main toolbar, click Orient.
  3. Select a part.
  4. In the Orient panel, click Position.
  5. Use the Position tool:
    • Drag Parts — Click this button to enable repositioning of the selected parts. To move a part, click and hold the left mouse button, then drag the cursor. A green line is displayed around the part when it is within the manufacturing space; a red line is displayed when all or some of the part is too close to the edge of the space to be printed. Click Drag Parts again to disable repositioning.
    • Translate using Values — Click this button to move selected parts by a specified distance. Select a Relative to option, then enter the X and Y distances by which you want to move the part. Click Translate using Values again to disable the option.
    • Rotate using Box — Click this button to rotate selected parts. A bounding box is displayed around the part. Click a corner of the bounding box and hold the left mouse button to rotate the part. Click Rotate using Box again to disable the option.
    • Rotate using Values — Click this button to rotate selected parts by a specified angle. Select a Relative to option, then enter the X, Y, and Z angles by which you want to rotate the part. Click Rotate using Values again to disable the option.
    • Offset from platform — To create space for supports below the part, enter a distance between the surface of the platform and the bottom of the part. Alternatively, click the up or down arrows to change the distance.
