About Simulation Utility for Netfabb

Three products are offered for simulation customers with differing needs:

• Netfabb Premium - Allows access to the Autodesk Cloud to perform Part-level powder bed simulations and generate processing parameter (PRM) files, using Autodesk Cloud Credits.
• Netfabb Ultimate - Allows access to the Autodesk Cloud to perform Part-level powder bed simulations and generate PRM files, using Autodesk Cloud Credits. Local simulations of part-level powder bed processes can be performed with the following limitations:
  • Simulation type: Part-level powder bed simulations only, no moving-source simulations
  • PRM files: Generic PRM files are included with software. Users cannot generate custom PRM files locally.
  • Mesh size: Maximum of 500,000 nodes and 20 million layer-nodes (grouped layers X number of nodes)
  • Mesh controls: Maximum of 20 layers grouped and a maximum of 1 mesh coarsening generation.
• Netfabb Local Simulation - Allows for part-level simulations without limitations, including access to the Autodesk Cloud. Additionally, can generate custom PRM files, perform Directed Energy Deposition (DED) simulations, and run Local Simulation on the command line or on a Linux platform.

Note: References to the Cloud on this page and elsewhere in the 2019 Help no longer apply, as Cloud solve availability was terminated in April 2019.
