The Probe internally / Probe externally button enables you to specify whether you are probing a boss or a hole. For example, if you select the following arc with the internal probing parameter applied, the probe path is incorrect.
To change the path to probe the feature externally:
- Select the Probe Internally
button on the Features tab. The button icon changes to the Probe Externally 
icon, and the CAD view shows the new probe path.
- Click the Save Feature
button to save your change.
