Elevations help clarify relationships between elements as you design and document the building model. In a default template, Revit provides four exterior elevation views. To create additional interior or exterior elevation views, on the View tab, click the Elevation tool. As you place the elevation marker in a plan view, Revit detects model geometry and helps align the elevation marker. To cycle through possible directions for the elevation marker, press Tab to rotate the elevation marker.

To open the elevation view, double-click the elevation arrow in a drawing or double-click the view name in the Project Browser. In Revit MEP, elevations are sorted by discipline and sub-discipline in the Project Browser. As your model changes, Revit automatically updates elevation views.
