You can modify many properties for the entire stair or for individual stair components in an assembled stair.
For example, you can modify the connection method in a precast stair, or specify whether to use a smooth or stepped surface on the underside of a run. To modify a type property, you change the value of the corresponding parameter as described under Type Properties Reference.
To modify an instance property, you change the value of the corresponding parameter, as described under Instance Properties Reference.
To access type properties for stair components

The Type Properties dialog for the component displays. You can modify the existing type or duplicate the type to create a new one.
