When you probe a part manually, probe compensation is automatically appliesd in the direction of the vector running from the stylus tip to the last knuckle joint of the arm.
To use this method, you must ensure the probe is pointing at the surface being measured when you take a point. The following diagrams show how to position the probe:
- Correct orientation of the probe relative to the surface.
- Incorrect orientation of the probe relative to the surface.
