The Plastic Part command places one or more parts into a Mold Design project.
- In the Mold Layout tab, click Plastic Part .
- In the Plastic Part dialog box, browse to locate the plastic part file.
- Select an .ipt file and click Open.
If the part contains surfaces or multiple bodies, the Derive Plastic Part dialog box displays.
- Right-click to select an alignment option, left-click to place.
- Optionally, click OK in the File Naming dialog box.
Note: You can repeat the previous steps to place multiple parts into a family mold design.
Place plastic part

Place multi-body plastic part
- On the Mold Layout tab, click Plastic Part .
- In the Plastic Part dialog box, browse to locate the plastic part file.
- Select a multi-body part file, and then click Open.
- Click OK. The Derive Plastic Part dialog box displays.
- To add a new plastic part to the Plastic Part(s) list click Click to add. The new plastic part is given a default name, and is selected automatically.
- To rename a part, right-click the plastic part in the list, and then click Rename.
- To delete a part, right-click the plastic part in the list, and then click Delete.
- From the Solid Bodies Selection list, select the required solid bodies for the selected part.
- Click OK.
- Right-click to select an alignment option, left-click to place.
Delete plastic part
- In the Mold Design browser, right-click the plastic part node, and then click Delete.
