Allows you to update substitute parts in the first level subassemblies that are created by deriving the assembly into a part file. The command updates any substitute parts to ensure that parts added to or removed from the parent subassembly are accurately reflected in the resulting derived substitute part.
To update substitutes
- From within your active assembly, on the ribbon, click
Assemble tab
Productivity panel
Update Substitutes .
A dialog box reports how many substitutes must be updated.
- Click OK to continue the update.
- The informational dialog box closes, and the substitute parts update.
Note: Refresh the view of your assembly to see the updated substitute parts.
