Return to the default view and previous views

You can toggle through the different views that the camera has had in a session, or save views as a bookmark so that you can return to them at any time.

Note: This video illustrates how to create camera view bookmarks using Maya, but you use the same workflows in Maya LT. One exception: Maya LT does not have the Rendering shelf as shown, so the Bookmark icon is not available in Maya LT. Remember you can still access the tool from the panel menus, View > Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks.
To... Do this

Return to a camera's default view

Press Alt+Home

or

Choose View > Default View in a view panel

Go back in the view history.

Press [

Go forward in the view history.

Press ]

Undo or Redo the current camera view.

Choose View > Undo View Change or Redo View Change in a view panel

Bookmark (save) the current camera view.

Click the Bookmark icon in the view panel toolbar.

or

  1. Choose View > Bookmarks > Edit bookmarks.

  2. Click New bookmark to save the current camera view to a bookmark.

Change the name of the bookmark to something descriptive.

Bookmarks are saved to that camera, not the view panel.

Return to a bookmarked view.

Right-click on the Bookmark icon and select a bookmark.

or

Choose View > Bookmarks and then click the name of the bookmark.

Add the bookmark to a shelf

  1. Open the shelf to which you want to add the bookmark.
  2. Choose View > Bookmarks > Edit bookmarks.

  3. Click the bookmark.

  4. Click Add to shelf.
