When adding or editing a text note, you can format the note as a list.
In a bulleted or numbered list,
Revit indents the list text based on the Tab Size type property.
Video: Use Text Enhancement Tools
To create a list in a new text note
- Click into the text note to open the Edit Text tab.
- On the Paragraph panel, click a list style:
- (No List: used to remove lists from text)
- (Bullets)
- (Numbers)
- (Letters - Uppercase)
- (Letters - Lowercase).
- Enter text.
- Press
Enter to create a new list item.
To place an unnumbered or non-bulleted line to a list item, or add a blank line between list items, place your cursor at the end of a paragraph and press
Shift+Enter. The caret moves to a new line but does not create a new paragraph.
- Optionally, to create a hierarchical multilevel list, click in a list item and use the following tools to create and remove child list items:
- Modify | Text Notes tab Paragraph panel
(Increase Indent)
- Modify | Text Notes tab Paragraph panel
(Decrease Indent)
- Click Modify | Text Notes tab Paragraph panel
(Close) to close the Edit Text tab.
Tip: When you copy text into a note from an external source, the paragraph format of the note is applied to the text. For example, if you copy text into a bulleted list, the copied text is also bulleted but may not be a true list. Multilevel lists from external sources will not maintain list items when pasted.
