The Autodesk Licensing Guide covers how to set up the automatic startup of a network license server, but the steps might vary depending on what version of OS X is running. Refer to your Mac OS X documentation on how to configure an automatic startup service to run the network license server automatically.
A client workstation in a pure IPv6 network environment might not be able to successfully obtain a license from a network license server. As a workaround, use both a client workstation and license server in an IPv4 network environment.
AutoCAD 2020 for Mac can be installed side by side with previous shipping versions of AutoCAD.
Using the default installation settings is the fastest way to install AutoCAD for Mac.
A default installation does the following:
Performs a Standard installation, which installs the most common application features.
Installs the product to the default installation path of
/Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2020*.
You have successfully installed AutoCAD for Mac. You are now ready to register and start using the program.
Single-user:
Sign in to your Autodesk Account. Don't use this option if you received a serial number.
Multi-user:
Select this option if you use a network server to manage licenses.
Enter a Serial Number:
Select this option if you received a serial number. (For details, please refer to the Registering the Product with a Serial Number section).
Start a Trial:
Select this option if you want to use the application on a trial basis.
