This readme contains the latest installation and feature information for AutoCAD Raster Design. For reference, save or print this document. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you install this product.

Installation Notes

Install and License Methods Must Match Host Application

• AutoCAD Raster Design installation and licensing methods must match with the host AutoCAD-based product. For example, if you install the host application as a network installation, you must also install AutoCAD Raster Design as a network installation.

Installing AutoCAD Raster Design While an AutoCAD-based Product is Running

• Ensure that you close all AutoCAD-based products before installing AutoCAD Raster Design.

Starting AutoCAD Raster Design Using the Host Application's Desktop Icon

• Using the host application's icon (for example, AutoCAD Map 3D) to launch the product after installing AutoCAD Raster Design may not start AutoCAD Raster Design. In this scenario, do one of the following:

• Launch AutoCAD Raster Design using the AutoCAD Raster Design desktop icon instead of the host application's icon.

• Reboot your machine.

AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 Incompatibility with 2020 Version of AutoCAD Products

• AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 cannot be installed on 2020 version of AutoCAD products.

Installing AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 and AutoCAD Raster Design 2020 on the Same System

• If you install AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 on the same system as AutoCAD Raster Design 2020, the AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 ribbon may not load properly. If this occurs, uninstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2020 and reinstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2021. After the ribbon is restored, you can reinstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2020.

Installing and Using in Multiple User Account Environment

• If AutoCAD 2021 or other supported products are not installed or run by the same user who installed AutoCAD Raster Design 2021, and AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 fails to start, reinstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2021.

AutoCAD Raster Design in a Multi-Language Environment

• If AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 has been installed and you want to install a different language version of AutoCAD 2021 or other supported products, you must uninstall and reinstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2021.

Feature Limitations and Notes

Background Plotting

• Background plotting does not show unsaved changes to an image. Save your images before any background plotting. For best results with TIFF images, save the image in an uncompressed and tiled format.

Repair and Reinstall

• You must repair or reinstall AutoCAD Raster Design 2021 if you repair or reinstall AutoCAD 2021 or other supported products.
