The following is an overview of the changes made to AutoCAD Mechanical 2018.
High Resolution (4K) Monitor Support
Most AutoCAD Mechanical toolset user interfaces are now optimized to work with high resolution monitors. As a result, dialog boxes such as the Symbol Properties and Settings dialog boxes, and palettes such as the Content Libraries palette and the Structure Catalog, scale correctly when you increase the text size in Windows display properties.
Seamless Updates
Whenever an update is installed on AutoCAD Mechanical 2018, the ribbon highlights the feature that was updated.
Product Quality Improvement
Projects addressing product reliability have resulted in the following improvements:
- AMSETUPDWG is now able to correctly migrate all revisions to the standards governing section lines and detail views.
- Repeatedly moving surface texture symbols around no longer causes the system to freeze.
- Welding symbols no longer stretch to the origin when you specify the Melt Through weld type.
- Note symbols correctly reverse the most recent edit operation when you press Ctrl+Z while editing formulas.
- The system now prevents you from inadvertently deleting Mechanical Structure entities during a REFEDIT session.
- Geometry on the layer AM_9 (the layer reserved for invisible/behind objects) are no longer plotted.
- Issues preventing a BOM from printing correctly have been identified and resolved.
