Installing the 3ds Max Help

By default, the Help in 3ds Max is internet-based. If you do not have a dedicated internet connection, you can download a local version of your help.

If you prefer to have the English or localized versions of the 3ds Max Help available on your OS, you need to install the Help.

Before you install the 3ds Max Help, ensure that you have done the following:

• Install 3ds Max.
• Download the compressed Help file from www.autodesk.com/3dsmax-helpdownload-enu.
• Extract the files from the compressed file to the desired location.
  Note: You can choose to install the 3ds Max Help on a shared location such as an internal network or web server. To do so, you must copy the docs directory to a shared location.
