Dark Theme (pre-release) Details

Inventor's Dark theme (pre-release) features a dark blue user interface with a complementary Color Scheme.

What's New: 2021

This pre-release provides an early look at the dark theme experience being developed for Inventor. As a pre-release, some UI elements (design, color, etc.) may be enhanced later. In the meantime, below are the details about the dark theme (pre-release). Here are things to look for:

About the Dark Theme (pre-release):

• A new Dark (pre-release) theme is added. When you choose Dark (pre-release), a brief message is presented. Click Continue to see the Dark (pre-release) theme. The Details button brings you to this topic.
• UI Theme list appears first in the controls on the Colors tab because the theme affects the Color Scheme values. You'll want to test your Color Schemes with the new theme.
• Easily switch between Dark and Light themes. The general interface updates to display the chosen theme.
  1. On the Tools tab Options panel, click Application Options.
  2. In the UI Theme section, click the drop down and choose Dark (pre-release). The UI theme is applied.
• When Dark (pre-release) is active, the Amber icon option is disabled. Amber icons are not enabled for the dark theme.
• A new Dark color scheme with complementary color values is added.
• The color scheme Light Theme was renamed to Light to help distinguish it from the UI Theme.
• Dark theme is not available in some add-ins at this time. These are a work in progress.
