Data within the table is permitted to have any number of formats. Any cell, row, or column can have a reference to a cell style in the table style from which it inherits its formatting, provided there are no overrides. In addition, cells also support overriding specific formatting which takes precedence over the referenced cell style. These items can also import and export their particular style through an application interface using data linking.
Data links provide a way for tables in AutoCAD drawings to send or retrieve information to external data sources. These links are not dynamic. Instead, a copy of the linked data resides in the drawing and is used for all purposes, including display. This copy contains connection information and is updatable from the external data sources at any time. AutoCAD provides an Excel data link to connect to Excel files.
