Face Window Verification Options dialog (PartMaker)

Use the Face Window Verification Options dialog to specify how PartMaker verifies toolpaths in the Face window.

To display this dialog, select Part Features > Face Window Verification Options.

If Prompt to Enter Face Window Verification Options is selected on the Preferences dialog, PartMaker also displays this dialog when you select Part Features > Verify Work Group Tool Path.

The following options are available on the Face Window Verification Options dialog:

Hollow — Select to display a hollow representation of the cutting tool used for the operation.

Solid — Select to show the stock being removed while an outline of the tool performs the cutting operation. You can specify the color of the stock using the Sample Color drop-down list on the Preferences dialog.

Stock Motion Verification

• Deselect this option to show a fixed headstock-representation of the part, with tools moving in both the Z and X axes. This type of simulation is useful for verifying the geometry of the toolpath.
• Select this option to show the stock moving in the Z-axis and show cutting tools as fixed in the Z-axis to simulate the motion of the headstock as it moves through the guide bushing. This type of simulation is useful for verifying:
  • The geometry of the toolpath.
  • The tool offsets.
  • That the length of the retract does not exceed the length of the guide bushing when the tool retracts into the guide bushing, for example during threading and rough turning. You can set the length and OD of the guide bushing shown during the simulation on the Turning Setup dialog in PartMaker/SwissCAM.

Note: The Stock Motion Verification option is available only when programming toolpaths on the main spindle in a Turn Face window.

Do not show tool — Select to show only the programmable point of the tool used for the operation. The tool geometry is not displayed.

Prompt for Separate Verification of each Operation — Select this option to verify different operations (such as roughing and finishing) separately for a selected work group. When you select Part Features > Verify Work Group Tool Path and this option is selected, PartMaker prompts you to verify the toolpath for each type of operation.

Verification Delay(0-9) — Enter a number between 0 and 9 to control the speed of the verification, with 0 being the fastest and 9 the slowest.
