Click the Vise Data button on the Spindle Settings dialog to display the Vise Data dialog.
Note: This dialog is applicable only in PartMaker/Turn-Mill when a vise is specified as the work-holding device type for the sub-spindle when a Bar-Fed Mill machine type is selected.
Vise Name — Enter the name of the vise.
Vise Shape
- Vise Origin X (P) — Enter the origin of the vise; that is, the distance from the top of the vise to the vise origin. The vise origin is the reference point of the vise and is used for various measurements in PartMaker. When the vise is in a rotation for part transfer, the main spindle rotary axis (designated as the Z axis in PartMaker) passes through this point.
- Vise Height (Hv) — Enter the distance from the bottom of the vise to the point where the jaws attach.
- Vise Width (Wv) — Enter the width of the vise.
- Vise Length (Lv) — Enter the length of the vise.
Jaws
- Jaw Length (Lj) — Enter the length of the jaw.
- Jaw Height (Hj) — Enter the height of the jaw (from the top of the vise).
- Jaw Width (Wj) — Enter the width of the jaw.
- Number of Jaws — Displays the number of jaws. This is for reference only.
- Open Distance (Dj) — Enter the distance that jaws can open.
Simulation Properties
- Vise Transparency — Enter the transparency of the vise during simulation. 0% displays a solid vise, while 100% creates a fully transparent (invisible) vise.
- Jaw Transparency — Enter the transparency of the jaws during simulation. 0% displays solid jaws, while 100% displays fully transparent (invisible) jaws.
- Vise Color — Click to display the Color dialog, where you can select the color of the vise.
- Jaw Color — Click to display the Color dialog, where you can select the color of the jaws.
- Jaw Speed — Select an option (Slow, Medium or Fast) to specify the speed at which the jaws open and close during simulation.
