Spine finishing (PartMaker, Advanced Surface Manufacturing)

Use the Spine finishing page to project a tubular pattern onto the model, which is then machined. The curve that is used as the center of this tube (the focus of the pattern) is known as a Spine curve.

Pattern

Style — Select a style to define the shape of the pattern.

Angular limits — Specify the angular limits of the toolpath in the Start and End fields.

Tolerance — Enter a value to determine how accurately the toolpath follows the contours of the model.

Thickness — Enter the amount of material to be left on the stock within tolerance. Thickness is applied as an offset to the tool in all directions:

Stepover — Enter the distance between successive machining passes.

Note: This option is available only if you select a Style of Circular or Spiral.
