Use the Chuck Data dialog to specify details of a chuck used on the machine.
This dialog is displayed when you click the Chuck Data button from any of the following dialogs:
The following settings are available:
Chuck Name — Enter a name for the chuck.
Chuck Shape — Use these options to describe the shape of the chuck:
- Outside Grip / Inside Grip — Select one of these options to specify whether the chuck has an inside or an outside grip.
- Chuck OD — Enter the outside diameter (OD) of the chuck.
- Chuck ID — Enter the inside diameter (ID) of the chuck.
- Chuck Length(Lc) — Enter the length of the chuck.
Jaws — Use these options to described the jaws of the chuck:
- Jaw Length(Lj) — Enter the length of the jaw.
- Jaw Height(Hj) — Enter the height of the jaw.
- Jaw Width(Wj) — Enter the width of the jaw.
- Number of Jaws — Enter the number of jaws on the chuck.
- First Jaw Angle(Fj) — Enter the angle of the first jaw on the chuck.
- Open Diameter(Dj) — The diameter to which the jaws can open. Available only in PartMaker/Turn and PartMaker/Turn-Mill.
Simulation Settings
- Chuck Transparency — Specifies how transparent the chuck should appear. 0% creates a solid chuck, 100% creates a fully transparent (invisible) chuck.
- Jaw Transparency — Specifies how transparent the jaws should appear. 0% creates solid jaws, 100% creates fully transparent (invisible) jaws.
- Chuck Color — Click this button to choose the color of the chuck,
- Jaw Color — Click this button to choose the color of the jaws.
- Jaw Speed — Select the speed at which the jaws open and close during simulation. Available only in PartMaker/Turn and PartMaker/Turn-Mill.
Chuck Preview — Click this button to display a 3D model of the chuck, so you can see how it will be displayed during simulation.
