Use the
Drawing Layout dialog to control the content and layout of
PartMaker drawings, as well as previewing and printing a drawing. A
PartMaker drawing can contain up to four different partitions which can be arranged in several different layouts on a drawing sheet. Each partition can contain a
PartMaker Face window, the Solids window or the Simulation window.
To display the
Drawing Layout dialog, select
File > Drawing Layout from the Menu bar.
The following settings are available:
Layout Type — Select the number of partitions you want to include and the way in which you want these partitions to be laid out, by selecting one of the layout types.
Page Orientation — Specify the page orientation for the drawing as
Portrait or
Landscape. The option you select overrides the Orientation setting in the
Print Setup dialog.
Partition Content
- A, B, C, D — Select the window you want to display in each partition (A, B, C or D) of the drawing layout.
Layout Options
- Partition Headers — Select this option if you want
PartMaker to include a header, which identifies the window included in that partition.
- Partition Boundaries — Select this option if you want
PartMaker to include a line showing the boundary between each partition in the drawing.
- Job File Name — Select this option if you want
PartMaker to include a header that shows the pathname and filename of the job file at the top of the drawing.
Face Windows Display Options
- Equal Scale for Face Windows — Select this option if you want all the Face windows in the drawing to be scale to the same size.
- Center Axes — Select this option if you want the coordinate axes for all the Face windows included in the drawing to be centered in their partition. For Turn, Mill ZY and Mill ZX windows, only the horizontal axis (Z) is centered. For End windows (for example, Mill End Polar and Mill End Index), both the horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) axes is centered in the partition.
- View — Select the way in which you want Face windows to be displayed in the drawing:
- Zoom All — When selected, every Face window included in the drawing is sized so that the Face window boundaries as well as all the visible geometry, dimensions and notes are displayed within the partition. The equivalent menu option for a Face window is
View > Zoom All.
- Zoom To Fit — When selected, every Face window included in the drawing is sized so that all the visible geometry, dimensions and notes are displayed within the partition. The equivalent menu option for a Face window is
View >Zoom To Fit.
- Full View — When selected, every Face window included in the drawing is sized so that the part boundaries are displayed within the partition. The equivalent menu option for a Face window is
View >Full View.
- Current View — When selected, every Face window included in the drawing is displayed as it is currently shown within
PartMaker.
Show Title Block — Select this option if you want the drawing sheet to include a title block in the bottom right-hand corner of the drawing. When this option is selected the title block content fields (that is,

DWG. NO.,
REV. NO.,
TITLE,
COMPANY,
DATE,
MATERIAL,
FINISH
and
COMMENTS)
are available for you to enter details about the drawing.
Buttons
Preview — Click to display the
Print Preview window, which allows you to preview the drawing before printing it.
Print — Click to display the
Print
dialog, which allows you to set various printer options before printing the drawing.
Note: If the
Solid Model window or
Simulation window is included in the drawing, the window must be open the first time you print or preview the drawing. When you have printed or previewed the drawing and saved the job file, you can close the window.
OK — Click to save your changes and close the dialog.
Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving your changes.
