Location Weather and Site Dialog: Location Tab

Use the Location tab of the Location Weather and Site dialog to specify the geographic location of the model and the weather station to use for analyses.

For Define Location by, select one of the following values:

Default City List

Until you specify a different location, it is defined as <Default> and is set to the latitude and longitude of the major city specified for your locale. No Internet connection is required.

If you want to specify... then...
the nearest major city for City, select a city from the list.

If the desired city is not listed, enter its latitude and longitude, or use the Internet Mapping Service.

an exact location enter values for Latitude and Longitude.

To enter a street address, use the Internet Mapping Service option.

When you specify a location using the Default City List option, the Weather tab is populated with data from the closest weather station listed in the 2007 ASHRAE Handbook.

Internet Mapping Service

Until you specify a different location, it is defined as <Default> and is set to the latitude and longitude of the major city specified for your locale.

Note: The Internet Mapping Service requires a working Internet connection in order to be fully functional. If Internet service is unavailable, you can still use this method to specify a geographic location; however, the corresponding longitude and latitude cannot be set until your Internet connection is restored.

For Project Address, do one of the following:

Click Search.

The search results display in the map window. If any alerts display, see Troubleshooting: Geographic Location and Project Address for guidance.

Note: To see weather stations in the map and in the list, you must be signed into your subscription-enabled Autodesk account. The selected weather station provides data used in heating and cooling loads analysis and energy analysis. These features are not available in Revit LT.
