FAQ: How are Advance Steel objects removed from a DWG file?

If you open and save an AutoCAD DWG file with Advance Steel, you might want to remove the Advance Steel objects that were saved with this DWG file.

To remove the Advance Steel objects, perform the following steps:

1. Open Advance Steel.
2. On the ribbon, click .
   • Tools Tools (Delete all AS objects from external drawings)
3. Select the drawing from which you want Advance Steel objects to be removed.
4. Open the drawing.
5. Click Yes to remove Advance Steel objects.
6. Close Advance Steel.
7. Open plain AutoCAD. Don't open any drawing.
8. At the command line type demandload & set the value to 0 (zero), normally the value is 3.
9. Now open the drawing from which Advance Steel objects were removed and save it.
10. Exit AutoCAD.
11. Re-open AutoCAD without any drawing.
12. At the command line type demandload and set the value to 3.
13. Now open previous drawing. It will be opened without Advance Steel objects.

Your drawing will no longer contain Advance Steel objects and can be opened in pure AutoCAD.
