After generating the deep-beam reinforcement it is possible to generate additional reinforcement connecting the deep-beam with a slab adjoining to it. Once the Starter bars option for a deep-beam and a slab is selected, the following dialog appears box on the screen.
Note: The reinforcement connecting a deep-beam with a slab is not generated automatically, therefore, all reinforcement parameters should be defined in the above dialog box.
To define starter bars, the following parameters should be defined for them:
- Direction - bars may be inserted into the section in one of the four directions
- Shape code - allows selecting an appropriate shape of starter bars
- Bar diameter
- Length - allows defining bar length conditions (by specifying a value or a multiple of a bar diameter)
- Location - determines a level at which the reinforcement will be generated; this value may be defined for an arbitrary level (NOTE: yet the program will detect defined adjoinig slabs automatically, thus making selection of the bar level easier)
- Location in the elevation - refers to the reinforcement distribution along the span length; if the In accordance with vertical reinforcement spacing option is selected, then it is necessary to specify the distance from the beginning of the zone of the starter bar reinforcement to the support and the support width. if the spacing required differs from that for the vertical reinforcement, a number of starter bars should be determined additionally.
To add a next group of starter bars, it should be each time defined in the above dialog box.
