Seismic analysis parameters are determined by a seismic code selected for use during calculations of a structure subjected to seismic impact. Once the Italian seismic code (2008) is selected in the New Case Definition dialog box or the Parameters button is pressed in the Analysis Type dialog box (the seismic analysis case defined for this code should be highlighted), the dialog box shown below will be displayed on the screen.
To perform the seismic analysis according to the guidelines specified in this code, the following parameters should be defined:
- usage period and usage class
- geographical location of the structure
- limit state
- soil category
- topography category
- direction
- q factor.
The lower part of the dialog box contains the two buttons: Direction definition and Filters.
