Select Materials in the Job Preferences dialog and click the Modification button. Select the Timber tab to access the following parameters.
Define the following:
Name
The name of a new timber material.
Note: The material name must be assigned before the Add button is pressed.
Description
A description of the defined timber.
Parameters specific for button
Click this button to access additional timber parameters based on the timber code. For example, the Humidity parameter is used to calculate decreasing reduction coefficients, which are dependent on humidity and stress types. This parameter is presented in a detailed table for timber bars.
Elasticity
- Axial elasticity modulus - the Young's modulus value for the defined timber.
- Average modulus G (calculation of the critical moment for buckling)
Strength
- For bending - the bending resistance value of the defined timber.
- For axial tension - the axial tension resistance value of the defined timber.
- For transversal tension - the transversal tension resistance value of the defined timber.
- For axial compression - the axial compression resistance value of the defined timber.
- For transversal compression - the transversal compression resistance value of the defined timber.
- For shear - the shear resistance value of the defined timber.
Others
- Force density (unit weight) - the density (unit weight) of the defined timber.
- Thermal expansion coefficient - the thermal expansion ratio for the defined timber
- Damping ratio - the damping ratio for the defined timber.
- Timber type (natural or glued).
