Use this dialog to define loads due to hydrostatic pressure acting on the planar finite elements of a structure.
- Access
-
- Click
on the Surface tab of the
Load Definition dialog.
- Pressure value P
- Specifies the constant component of the hydrostatic load for a uniform or variable load.
- Variable part
- Specifies the specific gravity of the liquid for a variable load.
- Liquid level h
- Specify the base liquid level for a variable load.
Note: The base liquid level is measured from z=0.
- According to axis
- Select the gravity force orientation with respect to the X, Y, or Z axes of the global coordinate system. The sense of the gravity force is consistent with the axis sense.
- Geometrical limits
- Takes into account geometrical limits for the load.
- Click
Geometrical limits to set the geometrical limits for the load.
Note: Planar loads are normally applied to the surface of an entire panel. This option facilitates the load definition for curved panels such as, for example, cylinders created using the Extrude option.
