You may need to edit the profile for a side road after a junction is created. For example, you can apply or not apply gradient rules, or change the maximum gradient.
This helps set reasonable gradients coming in and out of the junction on the side road.
Do one of the following:
In the drawing, click the junction object. On the ribbon, click Side Road ProfileFind on the Modify panel of the Junction contextual tab.
In the drawing, right-click the junction object, and then select Adjust Side Road Profile from the object context menu.
In Prospector, expand the Junctions collection, right-click the junction object, and then select Adjust Side Road Profile from the Toolspace context menu.
Note: If one or more of the dynamic VIPs created by the junction are unlocked, a task dialog is displayed prompting you to either relock the VIPs to match the primary road, or to continue the command without relocking the VIPs. If they do not match the primary road level, the corridor top surface in the corner radius fillet areas will be uneven. Choose to either relock the VIPs, if possible, or to continue the command without relocking the VIPs.
Use the Secondary Road Profile Rules dialog box to edit the following parameters associated with this component.
Apply Gradient Rules: Specifies whether to apply gradient rules for this side road profile.
Maximum Gradient: Specifies the maximum gradient that can be used for the straights leading in to or leaving the junction along the side road.
Maximum Gradient Change: Specifies the maximum gradient change between the junction area and the straight leading to the junction along the side road.
Distance Rule to Adjust the Gradient: Specifies to use a user-defined length or to the extents of the junction, as lengths, for incoming and outgoing gradients along the side roads.
Distance Value: When using the Distance Rule to Adjust the Gradient option, this specifies the distance rule value used for the gradient used for the side road in the junction.
